WHAT WE'RE DOING

For people, for planet, and for a better party.

DIRECT TRADE

WITH FOREST COFFEE

DIRECT TRADE

WITH FOREST COFFEE

Where possible, we have a direct trade relationship with farmers. Recently we have paired up with Forest Coffee. They work together with six farms pushing the boundaries on innovative coffee processing concepts, producing some exceptional coffees. Our relationship is growing rapidly, and we are increasing the volumes due to their incredible work.

ETHICAL PRACTICES

FROM FARM TO CUP

ETHICAL PRACTICES

FROM FARM TO CUP

Since day one we have partnered up with our friends, DR Wakefield. They have paved the way sourcing coffee through sustainable, progressive, and open relationships since 1970 by simply sticking to one mindset – ‘doing the right thing’. Coffees into the roastery are traceable from farm to cup through their transparency.

Since 2021 we have proudly worked with Raw Material. RM work with an open book policy, a social enterprise who maximise the impact coffee can have to farming communities. 100% profit generated goes back to producers through payments of coffee and community-level investments.

REUSING PACKAGING

FROM WHOLESALE TUBS, TO RETAIL BAGS

REUSING PACKAGING

FROM WHOLESALE TUBS, TO RETAIL BAGS

Five years ago, we operational made an operational decision to move over to tubs to house all our wholesale coffee. We recognised our use of single use packaging was simply unsustainable beyond belief. Since the start of the shift to reusable tubs we have saved using over 500,00 bags!

Following on from the wholesale tubs, we made a conscious to make the best out of a bad ‘bag concept’ and source the best possible solution of retail bags. We currently use recycled bags throughout our range and excitingly are in the process of sourcing a fully recyclable bag. What this space!

LOWERING ENERGY USE

BIGGER ROASTER, GREATER EFFICIENCY

LOWERING ENERGY USE

BIGGER ROASTER, GREATER EFFICIENCY

We made the decision in 2021 to re-think the number of hours spent roasting coffee and amount of energy used (gas) to produce quality coffee.

Our conclusion to invest heavily into a much larger roaster, whilst making sure we sourced a roaster made from cast iron, not stainless steel. The result, dropping our roasting hours down by 50% whilst using less gas over a working week.

TOO GOOD TO GO

ELIMINATING FOOD WASTE

TOO GOOD TO GO

ELIMINATING FOOD WASTE

Simple – working towards no food waste in our two cafes, Party @Pavilion & Party @ Moorgate.

We have partner up with the ever growing To Good To Go. Their achievements are incredible to date saving over 300 million meals through 155,000 business partners and 90 million users.

ZERO TO LANDFILL

BY USING CYCLICAL MATERIALS

ZERO TO LANDFILL

BY USING CYCLICAL MATERIALS

At the roastery, we produce over 75kg of coffee chaff every week. That’s almost 4 tonnes we used to throw away. We have paired up with a local premium carpentry business and local village homes to reuse the materials and provide sustainable heating fuel respectively.

We also get through over 3,500 bags a year. Recently, we have partnered up with a local pub group who run events using the sacks for multiple uses, as well as a local farm, zoo and a recycling jute company to make sure landfill never sees one of our sacks.

All products we use in our two shops are made from sustainable materials that are 100% compostable or recyclable after use.

FOR ALL EMPLOYEES NATIONWIDE

Stemmed from the living wage foundation, we are committed to looking after all our team paying our staff at least the accredited living wage, both nationwide and London.

COFFEE GROUNDS REUSE

LOCALLY, WITH CADOGAN ESTATES

COFFEE GROUNDS REUSE

LOCALLY, WITH CADOGAN ESTATES

We are on a mission to make sure our coffee used within our wholesale and our own shops is reused, preferably as compost.

Currently our London shops give away our used coffee grounds to the landlords who use them across their gardens. With our weekly visits to wholesale customers, we will be offering a coffee grounds waste pick up alongside pick up of our empty tubs.

The grounds will then be used for agricultural use within the local area near the roastery… what this space on further updates.

RE-USED CHAFF BRIQUETTES

FOR POWERING OUR ROASTER

RE-USED CHAFF BRIQUETTES

FOR POWERING OUR ROASTER

We repurpose the chaff produced during the roasting of beans into lovely little briquettes, which then go in our roasters and used as fuel.

It's almost like a perpetual power loop, as every time we roast we're able to make more briquettes, which in turn we use for roasting green beans.

sharing is caring

The best parties last long enough to see the sun rise, and we want to keep it that way.

At the moment it’s about progress – not perfection – but hang in there, we’re working on it, and it'd be even better if we can do it together.
