How to Make the Perfect Espresso | Roasting Party Guide

Hey, Party People! Today, we're diving into crafting the perfect espresso at home. Here’s how you can achieve a beautifully balanced cup with a silky, smooth body.

The Ideal Ratio

For a well-rounded espresso, aim for a 1:2 coffee-to-water ratio. This helps to develop all the flavors in your coffee beans while maintaining that smooth, velvety texture.

Recommended Recipe

  1. Coffee Dose

    • Use 18 grams of coffee.
  2. Yield

    • Aim for 36 grams of espresso.
  3. Extraction Time

    • Target an extraction time between 25 to 30 seconds.

Adjusting for Flavor

  • For a Fruity, Acidic Flavor: Opt for a quicker extraction time around 25 seconds. This will emphasize the more acidic and fruity notes of your coffee.

  • For a Richer, Chocolatey Flavor: Extend the extraction to about 30 seconds. This will highlight the chocolatey notes and add a touch more bitterness.
