Hey, guys. Today, we're going to guide you through making a stellar double ristretto. At the Roasting Party, we swear by this method for its exceptional balance between acidity, sweetness, and bitterness. All our milky coffees use a double ristretto base.
Why a Double Ristretto?
A double ristretto offers an ideal balance:
- Acidity: Bold and punchy.
- Sweetness: Lingering and rich.
- Bitterness: Low, to keep things smooth.
Ingredients and Ratios
- Dose: 22 grams of coffee.
- Extraction Ratio: Aim for a ratio less than 1:1.
Brewing Details
- For a Double Espresso: Use a 1:2 ratio, with a general dose of 18 grams to 36 grams of water.
- Extraction Time: About 30 seconds.
With this setup, you’ll achieve a double ristretto that maintains a perfect balance of sweetness with just a hint of bitterness—ideal for a nuanced and satisfying cup.
Enjoy your balanced brew!
